Hideki Machida

Hideki is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Global Japanese Practice. He has wide-ranging role cutting across Mobility 2030 (E-Mobility), Emerging Technology and Deal Advisory with the focus on assisting international clients investing and establishing an operational presence in the African continent.

Hideki started off his career in the telecommunications sector in Tokyo/Japan, with the main focus of the role to bringing services on-shore from acquired entities through transactions. Hideki then moved into the start-up space developing and servicing products in the investment banking space, working with Financial Services clients such as MUFG, HSBC, Macquarie Group in the Asian-pacific region.

Currently, Hideki leads the Mobility 2030 initiative in South Africa working with clients in the Trading House, Energy and Automotive sectors to identify and evaluate the opportunities for the movement of people and goods in Africa. He is developing views on the impact of global e-Mobility trends on the African continent, understanding how emerging markets are affected and ensuring “African” solutions are adopted to help people connect to economic opportunities.
