Alan has 24 years experience in providing assurance and advisory services to a range of automotive businesses across South Africa, ranging from OEMs, component manufacturers and dealerships. This includes sixteen years as partner in South Africa.
He currently serves as
- the Managing Partner of the KPMG Port Elizabeth office
- Head of KPMG Private Enterprise –Africa and South Africa
- Lead relationship partner on a number of national clients
Professional and Industry Experience
Alan maintains primary responsibility for overseeing KPMG’s Audit and growth activities in the Eastern Cape, across the key sectors of focus aswell as KPMG’s Private Enterprise go to market strategy for South Africa and Africa.
His delivery role has included overseeing audits in various frameworks (IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, US GAAP, Sox 404), other assurance type of engagements and family business consulting on governance, succession, risk management etc.
Alan oversees the dedicated APDP unit in Port Elizabeth, which is focused on delivering the APDP related assurance engagements for a variety of automotive component manufacturers in the Port Elizabeth region.
Alan has presented the results of the KPMG Global Automotive Executive Survey (GAES) to leaders of the automotive industry in Port Elizabeth since 2007. He has also presented the GAES at NAACAM regional meetings in 2018 as well as the APDP changes at the NAACAM AGM during the 2012 SA Automotive Week.
Alan’s clients include multi-national and South African public and privately held companies in the Automotive and Industrial sector (Automotive Manufacturers (OEMs), Automotive component manufacturers, dealerships); Agricultural sector, Pharmaceutical and Food and Drinks sector; Family Businesses across South Africa and Universities.
Serves as lead relationship partner on key multi-national tax and advisory clients. Services provided to these clients include Tax services, IT related services, Performance improvement projects, due diligences
