Faisal Mkhize is Absa Group’s Managing Executive of Absa Vehicle & Asset Finance a role that he took up after three years serving the bank as the Managing Executive of Retail and Business Banking, Absa Group in KwaZulu–Natal.
Faisal has worked with Barclays Bank Mozambique as a Managing Director for over two years. He has served in several senior roles in the bank including Head of Market Leadership and Change in Absa Business Bank and as Regional Executive of Private Bank in the Northern Region.
Faisal started his career at Absa in 1996 and has over 22 years extensive banking experience and a solid track record in Retail and Business Banking. His experience spans Public Sector, Small Business, Corporate and Business Banking and vehicle finance. He has played a pivotal role as a project lead, driving key projects across the Group to enable the establishment of Market Leadership in Business Banking.
Faisal possesses a deep understanding of the needs and expectations of clients across various segments and his diverse experience has seen him lead some challenging projects such as the integration of the Small Business segment from Retail Banking into Business Banking.
Faisal serves as a director of various boards including the Durban Chamber of Commerce, Ford Financial Services and Absa Vehicle and Fleet management. He is a former director of the SA Chamber of Commerce board.
Faisal holds a Master’s in Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, an Honours Degree in Public Administration from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has also completed the Global Executive Programme at Insead Business School, International Executive Programme at the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science and a Leadership and Ethics Programme at Wittenberg Business School in Germany.
